The Foster Village is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was once a dream that two women, a foster mom & foster/adoptive mom, had in the back of their minds because they saw a great need within the community. Their journey took place in Livingston Parish which at present has the largest number of foster children in the state & that number is still rising. So they decided to come together to make a way for the community to fill the gap.
You’ve heard the saying “It takes a village to raise a child”. Well, we are calling on our village to care for the most vulnerable in our community. Teaming up with local churches, local businesses, as well as, individual volunteers (our village) has made this possible.
The Foster Village is a donation center for items that will equip local children who have been separated from their homes in a traumatic event all free of charge. Our mission is to make sure that every child that has been moved from their home is clothed with dignity & given something of their own since most have lost everything. We want to help pave the road to a better life by providing gently used/new items.
